ABSTRACT
This project” Design and Implementation of an Android based Gynaecological   Information System”   created  a system that will provide first-hand information on gynaecology in the absence of a gynaecologist. This project was also implemented to bring information women need to their door steps; because most women find it very difficult to visit their gynaecologist except in extreme cases and this should be done regularly starting from puberty through adolelesence and menopause. They also need to be evaluated regularly, this evaluation by the Gynaecologist is where this project will be of help to women; to help them  know how to handle the simple case at home themselves and identify when there is need to visit their Gynaecologist. The motivation for this work was to reduce the time spent on queue just to see the Gynaecologist in the Hospital and to also help parents educate their daughters about their body as they advance in age. The system development methodology adopted is the Rapid Application Development methodology. The programming language used is Java and XML (Extended Markup Language). The findings of this project is that an Android system on Gynaecology can serve the duty of providing information a Gynaecologist provides; but does not replace the  overall duties of a gynaecologist.
